I have some amazing new resources for the Unreal Engine community this week.
‍
The YouTube channel Threepeat Games just released ThreepeatAnimTools (TATools). It is a free plugin for Unreal that contains a bunch of tools that make animating characters from scratch easier like selection sets, post mirroring, filtering and more.
Give the video a watch and a thumbs up so Threepeat Games knows to continue to add new features
Fab officially released last week! There is a new video on the channel covering what Fab is and how it will affect the entire 3D industry. Also make sure to claim all the Megascan assets so you can keep them forever.
An Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is an advance code editor that lets us write and compile code. For Unreal Engine C++ there are two main code editors: Microsoft’s Visual Studio and Jetbrain’s Rider. Starting this week Rider is now free for Unreal Engine for non-commercial use when previously it was paid for.
That means if you are using Unreal for educational or hobby purposes, Rider is another choice you can pick for your coding environment. The IDE you pick is personal preference, so I recommend to try it out if you have the chance. It could speed up your workflow.
See you next time,
Zach Hunter
